1/14/2015 4:58:33 PM EST - Faith On Mon.,Jan. 12,2015 we all lost a wonderful relative and friend. Bill Delp was loved and respected by all of us.He is now at peace.
11/21/2012 9:08:48 AM EST - Mary Jane Happy Thanksgiving to all Rojahns everywhere! So glad to hear that Bob,Laura and the kids will be in Mt. Dora today before joining us over at Disney for Thanksgiving and the soccer tournament.
12/14/2010 6:57:32 AM EST - Carin Zats As Christmas nears I have been thinking of my mom more than usually. I was looking in a Hallmark store the other day and came upon this poem.I wanted to share it with everyone. I think of it as a message from her. S I see the countless Christmas trees Around the world below, With tiny lights like heaven's stars Reflecting in the snow. The sight is so spectacular Please wipe away that tear For I'm spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year. I hear the many Christmas songs That people hold so dear But earthly music can't compare With the Christmas choir up here. I have no words to tell you The joy their voices bring For it's beyond description To hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me, Trust God and have no fear For I'm spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year. I can't tell you of the splendor Or the peace here in this place. Can you imagine Christmas With our Savior, face to face? May God uplift your spirit As I tell Him of your love Then pray for one another As you lift your eyes above. So let your hearts be joyful And let your spirits sing For I'm spending Christmas in Heaven And I'm walking with the king!
6/24/2010 4:34:36 PM EST - Beth R. Kleb Just 2 weeks ago we lost another of the "Rojahn Kids". Chris died after a long battle with COPD. It is so hard to grasp the she and Helen aren't with us anymore. We miss them and always will. If you go to the Phota Gallery you can see good pix of them and several very good ones of the ten of us, Thank God we have those pix to hold on to! When Chris died I thought... now Mom and Dad have a 4-some in Heaven and a good one too. How I miss them all! Beth
1/1/2010 7:19:00 AM EST - Carin Zats Happy New Year to everyone! I just wanted to take this time to thank all of my aunts, uncles and cousins for all of their support over the last week. My mom's passing away was very hard for Dale, Tim and I and having our family around helped to easy the pain. You all truly showed me what the meaning of Family is. My mom was a great lady and we will always remember her. I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH! And I am happy to say that I am part of the Rojahn family. I hope to see you all again soon and if you every wanted to email me my email address is on this site. Thanks again for every thing-Carin
12/30/2009 11:08:09 AM EST - Georgie Kleb Here's the complete post from the York Dispatch (I tried to past it into my earlier post): December 29, 2009 What a great lady and friend we have lost. I worked with Helen at the City Health Bureau. She helped to make the world a better place. My condolences to Dale and all the long years of caregiving. We will miss you Helen!!! Connie Morningstar, York PA
12/30/2009 11:03:29 AM EST - Georgie Kleb Another sad day as the family gathers in Leesburg to remember Aunt Helen. I found the following on the York Dispatch site:
4/21/2009 6:40:42 PM EST - Beth Kleb 4/21/09 Hi to all who frequent this site. All I can say is a darn shame we don't post more on it. Thanx to Matt Van B it still exists. I know there's been a wedding and a new baby recently. Abbie Shearon got married and Carin Campbell Zats and Steve have a new baby girl, born on 4/02 the same day as the Family Golf Tournament. The beat goes on! George and I are leaving FL on Friday to go north for his WP class 50th reunion. Time flies when you're having fun! We'll be back in Florida around the 5th of May and stay until the end of the month. I will try to post regularly, I hope you do too! God bless you! We love you all! George & Beth
12/24/2007 11:19:00 PM EST - Beth For the past several days my mind has been flooded with memories of "Christmases Past". You probably remember them too. My earliest memory is when we lived at Hoses', it was during the war and new toys were few and far between. We got dolls that came from the "Doll Hospital". They were wonderful...we were so happy! We thought Santa was great! I vaguely remember going to Grandma's for Christmas dinner, I think there were several sittings and of course the Rojahn girls helped with the dishes. Does anyone remember Grandma's cranberry sherbet? I wish I had the recipe. Then we moved to 70 E. Maple and Faith asked for a pony. After all we now had a barn with a stall, why not? Faith somehow saw what she thought was straw and was sure Santa was going to come thru. It turned out Marilyn got an archery set, complete with a target filled with....Straw! One year when Helen was real little and had knocked out her 2 front teeth, she got her 2 front teeth for Christmas! That how that song was born...? When Bill and John got football shirts 00- and 00+ When I stayed up late to sing at the midnite service and Emory Brown accused me of not believing in Santa and I got hysterical..... How we would pick on Clare to go ask Mom and Dad if we could get up yet on Christmas morning, they'd just yell at us and tell us to go back to bed, but Clare was a sure thing. Little did we know, D&B had stayed there till the wee hours, and Mom and Dad had just gone to bed. When Grampa's factory was a storage place for Ping Pong tables and such and various boyfriends would help haul stuff up the ally to 70 E Maple! The year Dean Armold gave me a "girdle" for Christmas, I was mortified. My psyche was scared for life! Turn on the violins!!!! After we all left home and came back for Christmas, there were more kids and more gifts. More food for Mom to cook. They shopped, she cooked. She was so exhausted. One year each of us had a space in the front room with our gifts, ours was called Kleb's Korner, what was yours called? How lonely I was when we were in Germany, I missed you all so much. I learned to invite lots of people over Christmas Eve so it seemed more like home. Our Christmas in London with Faith and family. It was soooo cold. Have you ever heard of roasting a turkey in 2 stages? The oven was so small we had to bake the front for several hours then turn it around and bake the back for several hours. It took so long George and Sam had consumed all the wine before dinner. Of course having the oven on for that long helped heat their flat. Faith, TUG BOAT ANNIE sends her regards! The dinners at the Delps and the Yorktown and the RLCC, such fun! When the consummate Santa went to his heavenly reward on Chrismas Eve in 1989. it was so sad but so fitting. Hey Rojahn kids, Merry Christmas to you and yours. I love you!
7/1/2007 11:43:21 AM EST - Marilyn A day for remembering Mother. We all miss her but we all have each other and we have alot of great stories to tell. Let' all keep in touch. Love, Marilyn

7/18/2006 12:12:36 PM EST - Matthew Van Buskirk Hello everyone. Nana's passing has made me think very much about the past, present and future. We're all very lucky to be part of this large family that has such a rich past. I was very glad that my parents religiously visited PA every summer. It was something I very much looked forward to. The memories are priceless. Do you remember the very loud horn from the Dallastown Fire department? They tested it every day at noon I believe. My parents used to ask me to go sit on the back porch just before noon so they could all gather by the back door and watch me jump with fear the moment that horn blew. To this day, I still get a little anxious when noon approaches. It's OK, I forgave them for this about a year or so ago. I will always treasure the time we spent at the farm. For a city boy, roaming the open grounds was such a treat. I remember Jonathan deligently working to form a beer mug with bullet holes on one of the silos on the old barn. Who remembers the magazine collection that was kept in the barn? Taking rides on the silver motorcyle while Jonathan developed his motor-cross skills was exciting. For me, eating strawberries with every meal was a treat. Although, I was told that one could grow weary of it. Once Mike, Jon, Chick, and I tormented the neighbors, the Hinkles, (with a name like that they deserved tormenting). We approached their house, hiding in the fields, and proceded to pelt the area they occupied with tomoatoes. At first, it seemed like they didn't notice. Then, Mr. Hinkle finally said "What the hell is flying around around here?", after which we all ran back to safety. Luckily we didn't get caught, until now that is. Uncle Chuck, the statute of limitations applies here. Who could forget the many innings of home-run derby in Nana and Pop Pop's back yard? The yard seemed very small, but we made good use of the space. Walking to the theater, the five and dime store, and the Cute-Rate will always remain in my mind as the essence of small town life. In the corner of Nana's kitchen was a lazy susan, in which was always an ample supply of sour dough pretzels, kept fresh within a glass jar with a metal lid. I appreciated this very much. At the time, sour dough pretzels were not available in Indiana. I remember just about every square inch of Nana and Pop Pop's house, except for the living room. I was wondering, did anyone ever really go in that room? I heard many stories about how life was in that house years ago. One of my favorites was a story about Aunt Faith and the Clarinet. Supposedly Pop Pop told Aunt Faith at the dinner table that after dinner was over she was to practice the clarinet. Aunt Faith responded, (I'm sure in a manner depicting all the confidence and wisdom she portrays in the responses she currently gives), by saying "Why? I play it better than you do." My understanding is that at this point a chase around the dinner table ensued. I guess the episode ended with Aunt Faith running upstairs and taking temporary cover by locking herself in her room. Red Lion Country Club was a setting for many fond memories as well, including numerous trips to the pool, and the 50th wedding anniversary. From before my time, somewhere in the Van Buskirk archives, we have some film of Andy Delp at the pool wearing a diaper, and experiencing the company of a fly. Lake Meade also holds many fond memories for me. More than once, Uncle Bill Delp transported me from Dallastown to the lake in one of his Oldsmobiles I believe. As a result of his NASCAR like driving skills (no doubt acquired through his occupational need to arrive on the scene quickly), the trip was relatively short, but usually included me depositing my stomach contents in car before we arrived. As you remember, the roads were very curvy. I also remember Aunt Jane Ann being very pleased that when my Dad visited, everything got fixed. Dad had a handy-man tendency that continued even through vacations. I remember Andy trying to teach my Dad how to sail with that small sailboat that was named "Sunfish" I believe. Rebecca and I spent many hours on the dock there fishing, using bread as bait, and catching more fish than we could count. For a period of time Bill Rojahn and his family lived near us in Wheaton Illinois. This was really nice for us because normally everyone was much farther away. We visited each other often. I think the phrase "more bags' most likely still incites fear for Aunt Alberta. She would sometimes lay on the living room floor to watch TV. Someone would then yell "more bags", and instantly everyone in the house would jump on her until she was at the bottom of a huge pile of bodies. It's amazing no-one was ever injured. John and I would often walk from their house to a nearby Ben Franklin store and purchase miniature wooden airplanes, kites, models and whatever else would keep us occupied for the day. I also remember a number of trips we took to visit Uncle George and aunt Beth, wherever they happened to be stationed at the time. I know at least one trip was to Kansas. At the time, I thought it was quite natural that we visited family often. As I grew older I realized that we're more close-knit than most extended families. It was truly a pleasure to see everyone recently, even under the circumstances. While at the church on Saturday, I took a moment to look around the room. All at once it hit me that what I was seeing was the lifetime accomplishments of two very special people, embodied within all of us. When Aunt Martha so eloquently chronicled Nana's life, at the point she mentioned when Nana and Pop Pop met, I leaned over to Rebecca and noted how if that never happened, this church would be empty. Uncle John said that every day we each exhibit a trait of Nana. When my youngest daughter gets upset, I've noticed that she tends to shake her finger at you. Must be in the genes. Uncle John described Nana as the heart of our family. A very good description I believe. Without a doubt, she will be missed. Believe it or not, these are just some of my memories. I'm sure all of you have some as well. As I said before, they're priceless. Please share them with us. If you have photos or videos in any format, please send them to me so I can add them here for everyone to enjoy. I believe that we're all very blessed to have had Nana in our lives. I believe the foundation of love she provided makes each one of us stronger. I can't put it any better than our cousin Georgie Kleb did: "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." ............. Love Matt
7/13/2006 6:34:19 PM EST - Beth Kleb 7/13/06 Thanks Matt for the beautiful pictures from Mother's funeral. We are all in mourning and the pictures soothed our grief. Love you! Aunt Beth

7/1/2006 3:13:40 PM EST - Georgie Kleb Today is a very sad day. Earlier this week I read a quotation (unattributed) that said "Don't cry because it's over - smile because it happened". We're all crying today but we're so fortunate to have had the lives of Nana and Pop Pop and the love of the family they gave us. We'll smile about that for a long time to come. I love you sweet family, George

I can't wait to get to know all of you! See you soon!
4/24/2004 9:43:21 PM EST - Matt OK folks, for only 19.95 from RONCO, you too can have a @Rojahns.com e-mail address! Well actually its free, just send me your e-mail address and what prefix you want, and I'll set it up! An example would be Faith, Faith@Rojahns.com and it would always be forwarded to rojahn4@webtv.net (her new address). A good reason for doing this would be that when you change internet service providers, and/or your e-mail address changes, instead of having to broadcast your new address to all of your friends, you just tell me, and I'll re-direct your Rojahns.com e-mail to your new account. Take care all....Love Matt
4/7/2004 11:28:52 PM EST - Mark Van Buskirk Oops! Was great to see all the Rojahn's, cousins and friends at the golf outing............not enough time! I really want to thank Matt VB for all of his time to make this page and the VB page too, for that matter. It's a great way to keep in touch!

11/26/2003 4:31:02 PM EST - Mark Van Buskirk Howdy everyone and happy thanksgiving! Since reading Johanna's message I am compelled to tell you that I am also featured in a current magazine..........well, actually my '32 Ford roadster is ( thank God there's no picture of me!) in the Jan '04 issue of "Street Rodder" magazine, which is on most newsstands now in November. Why is it that the January issue appears in November. I should be that far ahead on my bills! Anyway there is no picture of me but there is a comment on how easily I fit in this small channeled car.........I believe the quote is "luckily, the new owner, Mark Van Buskirk, isn't too tall." There is a picture of the car on the cover in the upper right hand corner.......the pictures for the article were taken at El Mirage, a dry lake bed north of Los Angeles, where the car used to race ( close to Edwards Air Force Base) I'm heading out to southern Ca. on Friday AM to drive the roadster in a Reliability Run in the mountains around Riverside, then I will finally bring the car home to Indiana. Happy Holidays to all from Mark and Kathy!

7/22/2003 8:43:15 PM EST - Joe Meyers Thank you all for the wonderful messages that I found last Thurs. on the guest page (onlineyork.com)for obituaries of my mother Jane Rojahn Meyers and father James H. Meyers. I will be glad to send a photo of mom's nursing graduation picture, if it is appropriate. I'll be helping Uncle Joe Rojahn generate an excel spreadsheet for postal addresses (will provide labels) and emails for the Rojahn Reunion next June (yes, June not May!). Julie and I (and others) did a little politicking - family friendly style. June and I must visit FL this fall. I must learn more about my mom from my older cousins. I know there are lots of stories to tell. Uncle Joe has told me some. I will visit him Friday afternoon. I enjoyed talking with the budding marine biologist at the reunion! Johanna - I have a PhD student working on indigo snake radio telemetry and have completed radio telemetry research projects on bald eagles, painted buntings, Puerto Rican parrots, other exotic parrots, and mammals. I will enjoy hearing about the shark project, especially on your tracking experiences. I'll tell you all about my Univ. of Miami application sometime. I was suppose to be a marine bilogist/oceanographer. However, in the Rojahn family in the past, Lebanon Valley College, was the place to go. Have a safe summer. The best to all, Joe
7/6/2003 6:32:57 AM EST - Richard Wagner Hello All, just a brief message to let you know that I have returned to the US on June 18th. Both Jinnan and Gene are still in China. 6/12/2003 9:27:54 PM EST - Matt Van Buskirk Greetings! I was able to procure a picture of Johanna at Bimini Biological Field Station, South Bimini, Bahamas. So please go to the photos and take a look. Also, look at her message below. We're getting ready to head out to Plymouth IN to spend a week with Mom (Marilyn), Kate will meet us there also. Sunday is Emma's 6th birthday, as well as Father's day! We're all doing well, hope you are too! Please send me some photos!!!!
6/9/2003 10:33:11 PM EST - Johanna Imhoff Greetings from the Bimini Biological Field Station, South Bimini, Bahamas! This is the first night that I haven't been out in the field catching baby lemon sharks from 6pm to 6am, and sleeping during the day. I'm having a great time, learning a lot, and already trying to figure out how I can afford to come back next summer for the PIT project. I feel extremely grateful, and thrilled to be here. One of the other volunteers, Eric Cheng, is a professional photographer/computer scientist and has put together an amazing website for us (http://wetpixel.com/features/pit). It is updated just about every day, but sometimes gets a little behind because our schedules are so busy. I have been slowly discussing a project. It looks like I may be able to to something with telemetry...possibly a comparison of day and night movements, or movements in different tides. This will involve field work and analysis of previously collected data, and data I'll collect in the field. This isn't definite, but I will hopefully know soon. Check out the website! But be warned, things get a little crazy around here sometimes. Hopefully you'll be seeing bigger and bigger sharks in the weeks to come. Hope all are well. Love you!

2/23/2003 12:08:03 AM EST - Mark Van Buskirk Howdy everyone! My '32 Ford Roadster is done! It was nearly six years ago when Dad and I delivered it to Dave Simard in Leominster, MA. Anyway, the car and I will be at the Amelia Island Concours for a one day car show on March 9,2003. I'll try to call Bob Rojahn and Chick Russo, brother Mike and I will be in the Jacksonville area from Thursday through Monday. Many of you know my in-laws live very near Amelia Island in Ponte Vedra Beach. Mom is coming up for the day with Uncle George and Aunt Beth and Uncle Dale and Aunt Helen. If you would like to come and see the car and the people let me know, I can arrange for tickets willcall. Matt has constructed an awesome web page for me that has several pictures of this car and others at: www.drmarksoldcars.com The car has been in California and stayed with Uncle Ray (Bus) and Aunt Iliane Van Buskirk in between the Grand National Roadster Show in San Mateo and the Oakland Rod and Custom Show in Oakland. I was fortunate to win several awards at these indoor car shows. The Concours at Amelia will have a Hot Rod class with nine entries.............all authentic hot rods with a proven race history, so it will be interesting to see how it does. I happen to know a couple of the judges........... I will be bringing the car to different venues all across the US this and next year, hopefully ( supposedly ) we will be at Pebble Beach in August. I hear they have a nice golf course there, all though I have only been on the 18th fairway amongst a bunch of classic cars. I will take the car to Hershey PA for the AACA car show on the second Saturday in October. We are all fine here in Northwest Indiana, hope the same goes for you! Warm Regards Mark

We just had the third annual Joe and Jeff Klassen Kruise at Mark's house.....it's an antique, special interest car show in memory of Mark's friend Joe who gave Mark his 1972 Dodge Charger in his will. Joe and his brother Jeff both passed away at age 32 from a very rare hereditary disease. Everyone got the tour of Mom's new digs above the barn. We had a very nice visit from Jane Ann and Bill along with Kimberly and Taylor over the Fourth of July weekend at the cottage at Cook Lake.....Mom was pleased to have each one of her kids there at some point in time over the weekend..... We are putting the cottage on the market....hopefully Mom can buy a new house on the golf course at Highlands Ridge when it is sold God Bless everyone! -7/17/02 A note from the Klebs...My apologies to all the folks whose birthdays I missed for the last six weeks, I went back to work for awhile and it sure affected my card production. I'm retired again and altho it'll be late you will get a card. It has been a very busy summer thus far. You probably read or saw on TV that a VietNam vet who was executed by the Viet Cong received the Medal Of Honor last week. He was George's classmate at West Point. There were several events honoring him(his name is Rocky Versace)and all were very moving. George went to the White House for the Medal Of Honor ceremony. He said the President was very eloquent and the ceremony was wonderful. Rocky's story is really something, it took almost 40 years for him to be recognized and his high school friends and West Point classmates did a lot of work to get it done. George, with a little help from his tailor, was in uniform for the White House ceremony. I took lots of pictures of him so perhaps we'll exchange one of those for the almost 40 year old one that's on the web site. It was also fun for the Grandkids who had never seen him in uniform, none of them were born before he retired in 1988. Last weekend we were in York, George played golf with three of his W.P. classmates, the ladies went to Cental Market and antique shopping or I should say looking. After that we stopped by to see the Delps and ended up staying for dinner and spending the nite. Jennifer, David and all their kids were there, so were Rebecca and Paul and the new baby Andrew. Andy was there too, he told us about his trip and preparation for it, all I can say is WOW! I hope he shares his experiences with us when he comes back. Any way it was great visiting with everone. This coming weekend we are going to Baltimore to stay with George's kids while they take a brief break, I think thats all for now, please write something for this site, it so good to hear how everyone is doing. God bless you all and remember Andy in your prayers. .....07/15/02 Andrew Delp leaves for Guatamala on Tuesday the 16th on another Medical mission. Our prayers are with you Andy. He will return on the 28th of July. 07/14/02 Bill Delp reports that his right shoulder is temporaily keeping him off the golf course. Hopefully not too long. ...07/07/02 Hi everyone. I thought I'd drop a few notes from the Rojahn's in Arizona. We could use some of the rain you had in Mt. Dora. We haven't had any measureable rain here since last October. In all my years here I've never seen it so dry. Even the desert plant are dying. With some luck our summer monsoons will start soon. Two weeks ago we celebrated Zachary Rojahn's first birthday. For those of you who don't remember, Zachary is the son of John and Karin. I have another hole in one to report. I had my second hole in one on Sat., 6/29 at Rio Rico Resort and Country Club on the 17th hole, 120 yard par 3. The club that struck this fantastic shot was a 9 iron. Alberta, Nicole, and Rachel are spending this week in Philadelphia visiting Alberta's brother John Spraga. John is recovering from recent bypass surgery and is doing fine. She will be visiting other relative while in Philly as well as spending time at her brother's house in Ocean City, NJ. Have a great summer whereever you are. Well, I hope that everyone is doing fine. And finally I would like to thank the person who added the drawing of Nana & Poppop's house under Peace and Tranquility. That statement is definately true.
